Current Courses
I am currently studying for a BSc in Audio Engineering and Media Production at on online international German college called HOFA GmbH. It's a top up degree. This means there are 2 parts to it an HND Diploma with all the practical elements that constitutes the first two years of the course and then an academic year at Triagon Academy in Innesmanning near Munich. Triagon is also associated with the Music and Media School there, so I'm going to be studying for a Certificate of further Education in Composition concurrently from September which can build into a second artistic degree in composition.I could do an MA or PhD with them, but I'd like to get a degree in Creative Writing from Oxford as well so I can produce my own talking books and poetry podcasts. But I PhD in Production would be a massive achievement at the end of my career. I'm just worried that I won't be able to make substantial amounts of money from music alone and I might need to write as well. I used to teach English Language to fund my studies abroad and have a masters degree in that as well. I don't do that now, but I'd like to continue that side of my career by developing my creative writing as a professional skill to go with the music to have more than one string to my bow. I feel I'm only really a genius at composition the playing might develop that way on piano. I've got some good results in online competitions recently. I wasn't a countertenor despite my best efforts, but I'm a prizewinner at singing. I just have experience enough to survive as a half decent singer I'm not the best at that but pretty good all the same I've sung over 400 times live. A diploma in Vocal Teaching from ABRSM might be possible and or Piano Performance and Teaching.
Fact :
'The first external qualification I ever did was a musical one. In 1989, just before I went to secondary school I took my ABRSM Grade 1 violin I played the theme from Judas Maccabaeus by Handel and two other pieces'.
Recording
This is a recording of me singing the associated hymn Thine Be The Glory with the same tune with my own production on. The production consists of pan, EQing, compression, delay, and a custom designed reverb using my home studio and sequencer or DAW Apple Logic Pro X. For the Miking I used a trusty industry workhorse, The Shure SM58 Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone and a Scarlet musical interface from Focusrite with my Mac Mini.
